Chasing Sunsets Chapter 1 Released!

Chasing Sunsets 0.2 (Chapter 1) Available to Patrons!

Chapter 1 has arrived!   Thank you all for your patience as Kentyrr and I refined our workflow and fed our Cyberpunk addiction.

Below, you will find the Mega links to the PC and MAC versions of Chasing Sunsets.  Here are a list of feature improvements you can expect in this episode that opens up the main story branches we'll begin to explore in Chapter 2:

  • Discord Rich Presence
  • Scene Gallery
  • Image Gallery
  • 1400 new renders (Well over twice as many as the Prologue)
  • Improved, cleaner UI with hotkey show/hide
  • Four custom assets/environments you won't see anywhere else!

Save game compatibility with 0.1a has been regression tested, and we opted to release on Ren'Py 7.3.5 due to performance and rendering issues on Mac platforms.

Thank you for your patience and investment in us!   We hope to continue to live up not only your standards, but our own with this and coming installments!

Special thanks to our beta team for helping us identify and squash (hopefully) any nasty release day bugs.

Eagle-eyed VN players may spot cameos or callouts from other popular VNs.

Loving the game, so far. Tried the demo, bought the full release. Trying to load saves from the demo causes crashes. Always seems to be:
Exception: Couldn't find a place to stop rolling back. Perhaps the script has changed in an incompatible way?

Hazarding a guess, something in the platform has changed between the demo and main release? [Edit to add: This is on macOS 12.6.2.]

Thanks for pointing that out.

You're 100% correct...I've updated the Ren'Py framework between the demo version and the full release.   It didn't occur to me to update the demo as well.

I've added this to my to-do list, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Oh, no worries. Seems to also be a bit of a side issue that goes along with this, though: Seems that there's no ability to Skip anything I'd already played in the demo chapters. Letting the Auto play through the older steps. I'll report back if that isn't resolved in new saved games.

Also, really want to reiterate how much I'm enjoying the writing. This is superb ... right up there with the likes of Leap of Faith. Speaking of which, the Lexi easter egg was great. It'd been long enough since playing LoF that I didn't remember Jaye being in the title. Very fun. Took me right back.

You have to select "Skip Unseen" I think in the pref's menu to enable that function.   If it still doesn't work, let me know.

And thank you kindly...That's the kind of encouragement that keeps us going.   Keep your eyes peeled for two additional easter eggs in the next chapter!

Aha! Well, I've managed to get into new territory and checked whether Skip works as expected on content I've seen. I appreciate your suggestion, though, and perhaps it may be of use to others.

Have a great week, guys. Can't wait for the next chapter!

OH! And before I forget, Steam will be giving Mac users warnings that Ren'Py won't work on macOS versions newer than Catalina. Given that I'm on Monterey, that's obviously untrue. When you finally get that Mac version up on Steam, you might want to mention the demo that Mac users can safely try for free to prove the Mac sale on Steam is viable. Just a suggestion.

Peace.

That's fantastic advice!   Thank you and glad you enjoyed it!

As a Mac usr, I thank you so much for allowing me to play through this excellent AVN.
