A surprisingly captivating story, even though you don't get to make many choices in the beginning, I found myself immersed in the story almost instantly. That 'ski lodge' bit, kinda hit close to home, only in my case, brought back long lost memories of summer camp. Eh!
My only 'suggestion' I'd ask for would be an option to skip the lewd scenes. Specially once you've seen them, being forced through 'em all over again exploring the story for different outcomes, kinda gets "meh-ish" and unnecessary in many cases where there's no meaningful dialogs in those scenes. Just a thought. But it would be appreciated if such an option would get included in the next chapter release.
That said, I'll see this story through to it's end regardless. Great work! Interesting story, so far, interesting character arcs, and the story twists are welcomed even though I can somewhat anticipate what will come next.

I think you completely misread Jaye, Christian was *never* Jaye's Boyfriend.
I think you need to replay those scenes and actually read the dialogs a little more closely. Because she very clearly mentions that she felt sorry for Christian after having met him in the school's infirmary with injuries from being mistreated by his father for being gay (recall when she points out 'cigarette burns'). And getting thrown out of his home for it. Then Jaye mentions that she felt sorry for him and invited him to her home to give him a chance to vent about his problems, and then that's when things got 'dicey'.
As for her attitude, I think the story writer really did his homework on the psychological behaviors of people and how some deal with rejection and sexual/emotional tensions. I've personally witnessed similar events before, just not between actual siblings (not that Jaye and MC are actual siblings, I'm not sure how siblings with ZERO blood relations are considered as actual siblings. But for the sake of the story I'll let it slide hehe). And I think she is very well depicted. And her behavior checks-out.
Also, about her relationship with Tara (her best friend), Tara is not gay and neither is Jaye. Again, I strongly urge you to go through the story once more and actually pay closer attention to the dialog details.
as for Jaye being lazy and not working, you really missed alot of text haven't you? because again she points out she worked as a barmaid. I don't know how you can even remotely conclude that she leaches off her parents for money, but that strangely sounds like work to me....

Yeah, I think I simply don't know how to download the new content and then pick up from where I left off. When downloading new content, should it be saved within the folder for the old version, or simply on its own in its separate folder?

You can open your new download anywhere. The binary writes copies of your save to %appadata%/ChasingSunsets/ so it should be aware of any previous saves no matter where you stored the last update. (As long as it's under the same username on the same PC)
LOL! Indeed that was the issue. I’d originally engaged on my MAC Air, but then attempted 6 on my desktop. All good now. Enjoying your writing and art thoroughly. There are 9 quality AVNs (in my humble opinion) worthy of following, which are of professional caliber, and yours is in the top 3. Keep up that quality production!

As for being the best VN, there is lots of great stuff out there, and we'd never claim to hold a candle to many of them, but we're grateful for the kind words and encouragement!
Hello there! I want to start off by saying that I have played complete play throughs of Being a Dick, College Kings, and now Chasing Sunsets all in a single week. Out of all those AVN’s Chasing Sunsets 💯 has the strongest and most enrapturing story. It’s amazing and I love the depths that it makes me feel from high to low, the ride is incredible.
-The Graphics are on point and the people and places over all look amazing with the exception of the main guy. He’s mostly ok and I think I see what your going for but something about his face just looks off. It needs more details I think just to sharpen it like everyone else’s. Everyone around him has dynamic facial expressions whereas I’d say the MC had like 2-3.
That being said I’m rather surprised and disappointed that your roughly 50% through the story. It isn’t my story of course but as a writer playing this I just naturally feel like I’m more maybe 25% through the story. I would hope if this be the case that you have a plan for a sequel because it would definitely be wanted.
Another low note for me on this game though is that if your truly 50% done, it feels like a rollercoaster. Out off al the AVN’s I’ve played Chasing Sunsets has the shortest chapters and they really could be extended. I see that chapter 6 is taking longer than most previous chapters I believe. Hopefully that means this chapter has more to offer than it’s shorter predecessors.
Over all 10/10 on the story but because of the shortness of length and apparent pace id say 7.5/10 on the whole game.
Thank you for the feedback. The average adult paperback novel contains about 90K-120K words. Chasing Sunsets as of Chapter 6 contains 114K words somewhere past the halfway point. Extrapolating through the projected end of the game, we expect to land somewhere between 170-180K words.
Nearly every single line of dialogue has a unique render with every "short" chapter including between 1400-1800 unique and individually-posed renders. Indeed, as of this moment there are over 10000 images in the existing content.
We're sorry the pacing and amount of content falls short of your expectations at our price point, but are gratified for the kind words regarding the story.
I think you're underselling your wordcount by comparing it to a paperback novel. A novel spends time describing the setting and actions of it's characters. You guys are going the extra-mile and animating it. Not to mention multiple scenarios and coding.

That's why I find this game so high quality: It's not about sex all the time (no worries folks, there's more then enough), but also about anticipation and suspense. Which you nailed!

This is subjective and will vary by reading speed, comprehension, player's preferred pace. I would say right now it takes the average player 7-9 hours to complete the available content, if they are not skipping through it, and significantly longer if one seeks all of the optional scenes and achievements on all paths.

Stone Fox Studios has mentioned in a previous post that it will take closer to 120 days for a new chapter. My estimation for Chapter 6 would be 80 or so days.
Love Ch. 5 but sometimes the graphic don't load and I can tell because they don't load on the initial startup. The screen is black for a long time then the menu will display, but nothing else.
I found the problem. Believe it or not it was because I didn't have my headphones plugged into the PC. I don't have speakers and I had been using my headphones for something else.

This VN is by far the best one I've played yet, so when Chapter 7 comes out, I'll happily fork out another $15 for it. The writing, grammar, plot and characters are all on point.
Also, I love the little cameo in the very last scene of chapter 6, where you see Christian reading his news paper watching the 2 officers grab that assassin. you can read on the front page of his news paper about Lexi getting engaged, from "Leap of Faith". And I noticed that same thing done from LoF about Jaye. Very cool!! actually gave me goosebumps. lol

Guys I just wanted to say what an amazing job you have done with this. Its just the most beautiful story. I think we all know why we play these erotic games ;) but this is just soooo much more than that. I haven't been this emotionally into a story since "Game of Thrones." Its that powerful. You can really feel that love (Jaye and the MC) have for each other and their frustration that comes with not being together romantically. I'm rooting for them and I cant wait to see where it goes next. Again, well done. I loved every minute of it.

I played the first 3 chapters and loved it so much that I bought Ch. 4. There's a certain depth to the interactions between the MC and some characters that I appreciate that other games in the genre simply lack. I can't even describe how powerful the scene paired with Two Years was. Hauntingly beautiful *chef's kiss*. Looking forward to more~
I just want to say, I found this game after meeting Jaye just before she got her favorite selfie. Gave me an interesting perspective on the possibilities during the prologue. Also put me on pins and needles until we got to the boat.

Just finished Ch. 4 and I have to say I'm hooked and will be awaiting the next release on pins and needles. I'm not much for writing, so my reviews are generally short. With that said I'll say hands down this is the best game of it's type I've ever played. You folks are doing an excellent job with this so far and I truly believe this will end up as a game all others are judged against.
I came here for the H-Scenes but I stayed for the Story.
Now, to review this a little bit. The game uses my favourite type of narrator: the nigh-omniscient first-person narrator. That puts the player at ease because the beginning of the game from the Players perspective is also the end of the story from the Protagonists perspective. The game does tell you that there's very few game-overs (if any) but that particular choice of narration is "show, don't tell" (which works a lot better imho)
What also stands out is how multi-dimensional the characters are and the fact that there's actual character development that respects the player's choices. The angry bitch won't remain the angry bitch for all eternity if you make the right choices - and the game shows (rather than tells) why the characters are the way they are, why they did what they did and why (in those moments) they couldn't help but be themselves - or whoever the player chose for them to be. Unexpectedly thoughtful and self-reflective for an Adult-Game.
The game pulls your heartstrings... in the best and worst ways. It will make you cry, it will make you laugh, it will make you angry, it will make you cringe and it will... excite you. It will find a way into your heart and remind you of itself even after you put it down (due to having reached the end of the currently available content). And while the game starts slow - with lots of exposition in the prologue - I would strongly recommend to stick with it and not skip anything as the later episodes revisit and expose more about a previous plot.
The last (and best) thing that stands out for me (and partially why I started playing it in the first place) is how sex and intimacy is done. The game is certainly ADULT... but it is far more than sex. The game does intimacy, sensuality and the full range from soft to hard intercourse in a way that I haven't seen in any other game.
The renders are beautiful to look at and while they may be slighly stylized, they are close enough to "realistic" to make you forget that they are rendered.
There's only one thing that annoys me. The game isn't available on Steam in my home-country due to the particular laws regarding adult games in my country... so I can't buy it over there.

I agree. How one must wade through some pretty unintelligible garbage in other VNs, which really are just oure jolly fests, to finally come upon this (and a few others—notably Artemis, Being a DIK, Leap of Faith, College Kings, for example) entertaining AVN. Actually fun and mentally stimulating.
I note that you actually give each character their own voice, so each doesn’t sound like all the others. You spend time with character development, so good on you!
And re the intimacy: you allow build up, and you seem to take your time. Other developers could learn a thing or two about storytelling from you (assuming they would even care).
I will continue to look forward to your offerings, especially this story as it continues.

I think you completely misread Jaye, Christian was *never* Jaye's Boyfriend.
I think you need to replay those scenes and actually read the dialogs a little more closely. Because she very clearly mentions that she felt sorry for Christian after having met him in the school's infirmary with injuries from being mistreated by his father for being gay (recall when she points out 'cigarette burns'). And getting thrown out of his home for it. Then Jaye mentions that she felt sorry for him and invited him to her home to give him a chance to vent about his problems, and then that's when things got 'dicey'.
As for her attitude, I think the story writer really did his homework on the psychological behaviors of people and how some deal with rejection and sexual/emotional tensions. I've personally witnessed similar events before, just not between actual siblings (not that Jaye and MC are actual siblings, I'm not sure how siblings with ZERO blood relations are considered as actual siblings. But for the sake of the story I'll let it slide hehe). And I think she is very well depicted. And her behavior checks-out.
Also, about her relationship with Tara (her best friend), Tara is not gay and neither is Jaye. Again, I strongly urge you to go through the story once more and actually pay closer attention to the dialog details.
as for Jaye being lazy and not working, you really missed alot of text haven't you? because again she points out she worked as a barmaid. I don't know how you can even remotely conclude that she leaches off her parents for money, but that strangely sounds like work to me....

If your save doesn't work, always try the last autosave on Page 9. Chapter 5 should have autosaved to Page 9/Slot 6 for example.
If neither of those worked, I'm not sure. I haven't heard this issue reported from others yet.
Yeah, I think I simply don't know how to download the new content and then pick up from where I left off. When downloading new content, should it be saved within the folder for the old version, or simply on its own in its separate folder?

You can open your new download anywhere. The binary writes copies of your save to %appadata%/ChasingSunsets/ so it should be aware of any previous saves no matter where you stored the last update. (As long as it's under the same username on the same PC)

There are 9 quality AVNs (in my humble opinion) worthy of following, which are of professional caliber, and yours is in the top 3. Keep up that quality production!

Hello there! I want to start off by saying that I have played complete play throughs of Being a Dick, College Kings, and now Chasing Sunsets all in a single week. Out of all those AVN’s Chasing Sunsets 💯 has the strongest and most enrapturing story. It’s amazing and I love the depths that it makes me feel from high to low, the ride is incredible.
-The Graphics are on point and the people and places over all look amazing with the exception of the main guy. He’s mostly ok and I think I see what your going for but something about his face just looks off. It needs more details I think just to sharpen it like everyone else’s. Everyone around him has dynamic facial expressions whereas I’d say the MC had like 2-3.
That being said I’m rather surprised and disappointed that your roughly 50% through the story. It isn’t my story of course but as a writer playing this I just naturally feel like I’m more maybe 25% through the story. I would hope if this be the case that you have a plan for a sequel because it would definitely be wanted.
Another low note for me on this game though is that if your truly 50% done, it feels like a rollercoaster. Out off al the AVN’s I’ve played Chasing Sunsets has the shortest chapters and they really could be extended. I see that chapter 6 is taking longer than most previous chapters I believe. Hopefully that means this chapter has more to offer than it’s shorter predecessors.
Over all 10/10 on the story but because of the shortness of length and apparent pace id say 7.5/10 on the whole game.
Thank you for the feedback. The average adult paperback novel contains about 90K-120K words. Chasing Sunsets as of Chapter 6 contains 114K words somewhere past the halfway point. Extrapolating through the projected end of the game, we expect to land somewhere between 170-180K words.
Nearly every single line of dialogue has a unique render with every "short" chapter including between 1400-1800 unique and individually-posed renders. Indeed, as of this moment there are over 10000 images in the existing content.
We're sorry the pacing and amount of content falls short of your expectations at our price point, but are gratified for the kind words regarding the story.
I think you're underselling your wordcount by comparing it to a paperback novel. A novel spends time describing the setting and actions of it's characters. You guys are going the extra-mile and animating it. Not to mention multiple scenarios and coding.
So I will wait for finished game, and will pay more than whatever the final game price is, based on comments below! :)

What does a "few hours" mean in the average session? That could be 3 hours only to maybe up to 7 hours?
This is subjective and will vary by reading speed, comprehension, player's preferred pace. I would say right now it takes the average player 7-9 hours to complete the available content, if they are not skipping through it, and significantly longer if one seeks all of the optional scenes and achievements on all paths.

Is there no way to save on the android version?
Love Ch. 5 but sometimes the graphic don't load and I can tell because they don't load on the initial startup. The screen is black for a long time then the menu will display, but nothing else.
Do you have a very old or slow PC? Animations are larger files and can stress laptops or file systems that are in bad shape.
I found the problem. Believe it or not it was because I didn't have my headphones plugged into the PC. I don't have speakers and I had been using my headphones for something else.

This VN is by far the best one I've played yet, so when Chapter 7 comes out, I'll happily fork out another $15 for it. The writing, grammar, plot and characters are all on point.
Also, I love the little cameo in the very last scene of chapter 6, where you see Christian reading his news paper watching the 2 officers grab that assassin. you can read on the front page of his news paper about Lexi getting engaged, from "Leap of Faith". And I noticed that same thing done from LoF about Jaye. Very cool!! actually gave me goosebumps. lol

Guys I just wanted to say what an amazing job you have done with this. Its just the most beautiful story. I think we all know why we play these erotic games ;) but this is just soooo much more than that. I haven't been this emotionally into a story since "Game of Thrones." Its that powerful. You can really feel that love (Jaye and the MC) have for each other and their frustration that comes with not being together romantically. I'm rooting for them and I cant wait to see where it goes next. Again, well done. I loved every minute of it.

Just finished Ch. 4 and I have to say I'm hooked and will be awaiting the next release on pins and needles. I'm not much for writing, so my reviews are generally short. With that said I'll say hands down this is the best game of it's type I've ever played. You folks are doing an excellent job with this so far and I truly believe this will end up as a game all others are judged against.
I came here for the H-Scenes but I stayed for the Story.
Now, to review this a little bit.
The game uses my favourite type of narrator: the nigh-omniscient first-person narrator. That puts the player at ease because the beginning of the game from the Players perspective is also the end of the story from the Protagonists perspective. The game does tell you that there's very few game-overs (if any) but that particular choice of narration is "show, don't tell" (which works a lot better imho)
What also stands out is how multi-dimensional the characters are and the fact that there's actual character development that respects the player's choices. The angry bitch won't remain the angry bitch for all eternity if you make the right choices - and the game shows (rather than tells) why the characters are the way they are, why they did what they did and why (in those moments) they couldn't help but be themselves - or whoever the player chose for them to be. Unexpectedly thoughtful and self-reflective for an Adult-Game.
The game pulls your heartstrings... in the best and worst ways. It will make you cry, it will make you laugh, it will make you angry, it will make you cringe and it will... excite you. It will find a way into your heart and remind you of itself even after you put it down (due to having reached the end of the currently available content). And while the game starts slow - with lots of exposition in the prologue - I would strongly recommend to stick with it and not skip anything as the later episodes revisit and expose more about a previous plot.
The last (and best) thing that stands out for me (and partially why I started playing it in the first place) is how sex and intimacy is done. The game is certainly ADULT... but it is far more than sex. The game does intimacy, sensuality and the full range from soft to hard intercourse in a way that I haven't seen in any other game.
The renders are beautiful to look at and while they may be slighly stylized, they are close enough to "realistic" to make you forget that they are rendered.
There's only one thing that annoys me. The game isn't available on Steam in my home-country due to the particular laws regarding adult games in my country... so I can't buy it over there.

I agree. How one must wade through some pretty unintelligible garbage in other VNs, which really are just oure jolly fests, to finally come upon this (and a few others—notably Artemis, Being a DIK, Leap of Faith, College Kings, for example) entertaining AVN. Actually fun and mentally stimulating.
I note that you actually give each character their own voice, so each doesn’t sound like all the others. You spend time with character development, so good on you!
And re the intimacy: you allow build up, and you seem to take your time. Other developers could learn a thing or two about storytelling from you (assuming they would even care).
I will continue to look forward to your offerings, especially this story as it continues.
